Synth was founded in 2023 by Kai Nakamura, a senior engineer who kept getting asked the same question: which AI tool should I actually use? Most reviews were written by people who had never shipped a production system with the tools they were reviewing. Synth was built to close that gap.
Every article on Synth is written by someone who has genuinely used the tool, service, or technique being covered. We prioritize depth over breadth, real examples over marketing copy, and honest assessments over affiliate-driven recommendations.
We are a small, fully independent publication. Revenue comes from newsletter sponsorships sold on a clearly labeled basis and from readers who support the work directly.
